Getting started, generally.
The most common questions from clients considering their first visit.
Is the consultation really complimentary?
Yes. Thirty minutes with the provider, in-studio, at no cost — with a written plan you take with you. No package pitch, no pressure. If we're not the right practice for you, we'll say so directly and refer you appropriately.
How is IV League different from other Lubbock med spas?
Three things: (1) we deliberately keep the client roster small so appointments are longer and provider continuity is maintained; (2) our GLP-1 program runs with real labs and follow-up, not a form-and-ship model; and (3) our aesthetic philosophy is restraint-first — we treat "less" as the harder, more skilled path.
Do you treat male clients?
Yes — deliberately so. Roughly a third of our client base is male, and our IV, GLP-1, and peptide programs are commonly requested by men in their 30s through 60s. The practice was built to feel as comfortable for men as it is for women.
Do I need to be a member to book?
No. IV League is not a membership practice. Every service is priced individually, and you only pay for what you book. Some clients establish a monthly cadence naturally; others come in seasonally. Either is fine.
Where are you located?
4715 W Loop 289, Lubbock, TX 79329 — approximately ten minutes from Downtown Lubbock, Tech Terrace, and Texas Tech University. Dedicated parking available. Discreet entrance from the north side of the building.

Cost, insurance, and how we bill.
Do you accept insurance?
Aesthetic and elective wellness services (IV, injectables, skin, peptide, consultation) are not covered by insurance at any US practice. GLP-1 medications can occasionally be covered under specific plans and diagnoses — we can provide documentation to submit to your insurer, but we don't bill insurance directly.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit card, debit card, ACH, and HSA/FSA where applicable. We do not accept cash for treatments over $500.
Do you offer financing?
Yes — through CareCredit and Cherry, for treatments over $500. Details available at the consultation. We do not run promotional financing pushes at any time.
Are prices negotiable?
No, and we're honest about that up front. Our prices are the same for every client, and we don't run discount promotions. What you pay is what we quoted you in writing at the consultation.

IV therapy questions.
Is IV therapy safe?
Yes, when it's delivered in a clinical setting by a licensed clinician using pharmacy-grade compounds. At IV League, every IV is placed and monitored by a licensed provider in a private room. Risks — infection at the IV site, mild vein irritation, allergic reaction — are low but real, which is why setting matters.
How often should I get IV therapy?
Most clients start with one drip to see how they respond, then build a cadence that fits. For most people that's monthly or twice-monthly during demanding periods, and less during quiet seasons. We do not sell drip packages up-front and we don't push subscriptions.
Do you offer at-home IV therapy?
Not currently. IV therapy belongs in a clinical setting with monitoring, sharps disposal, and immediate access to emergency intervention if something goes wrong. The studio room is designed to feel private and comfortable, and every drip is placed here.
— iv. Weight Loss / GLP-1
Medical weight loss questions.
How much does the GLP-1 program cost?
Cost varies by medication, dose, and phase. No separate fee for follow-up visits.
Semaglutide or tirzepatide — which is right for me?
Both are effective. Tirzepatide typically produces slightly higher weight loss (15–22% vs 10–15% at six months) but is more expensive. Semaglutide has a longer track record and is generally better tolerated at low doses. We recommend based on history, budget, and response — and can switch you if needed.
Will I lose muscle on GLP-1?
You can — and most GLP-1 programs don't address it. Rapid weight loss on GLP-1 is often muscle loss as well as fat loss, which reduces the long-term benefit. Our program includes protein targets, resistance training guidance, and body composition tracking specifically to preserve muscle. This is not optional in our protocol.

Botox & filler questions.
Will I look "done"?
Not from our chair. Our whole approach is built around avoiding the "done" look — we dose conservatively, plan around your face rather than a template, and prefer to under-do it and touch up. If you want to look obviously altered, we're the wrong practice.
How long does neuromodulator last?
4-6 months typically. Some clients can stretch to five with a lower maintenance dose after the initial cycle. Duration depends on metabolism, dose, and treatment area.
How long does filler last?
6–18 months depending on product, placement, and metabolism. Structural fillers (cheek, jaw) last longer than lip filler. Longevity is typically longer in areas with less movement.
Is filler reversible?
Hyaluronic acid fillers — which are the only fillers we use — are reversible with hyaluronidase. This is one reason we don't use other filler categories that can't be reversed.

Skin therapy questions.
The most common questions from clients considering their first visit.
How soon will I see results?
Hydration and glow protocols show visible results in one session. Texture, tone, and pigmentation work takes 3–6 sessions to show meaningfully — and 6–12 months to lock in. We're honest about that at the consultation.
Do I need to buy expensive products?
Home care matters, but "expensive" is not the same as "effective." We prescribe based on what your skin needs — sometimes that's a compounded prescription retinoid ($40/month), sometimes it's a specific serum, sometimes it's simplifying what you already own. We don't earn commissions on any products we recommend.
Can I combine skin work with Botox/filler?
Yes, and it's often the best long-term plan. We stage the appointments carefully — some treatments (like microneedling and filler in the same area) need to be separated by weeks. We'll build the calendar together.
I have acne / rosacea / melasma. Can you help?
Yes — these are common reasons clients come to us. Every case starts with a full skin assessment, and complex cases may involve a referral to a dermatologist for concurrent care. We're honest about when our tools are enough and when they aren't.
Peptide questions.
Are peptides safe?
Individually — most established wellness peptides have a strong safety profile when prescribed for appropriate indications, at appropriate doses, with medical oversight. The safety concerns come from unregulated online sourcing, self-administration without labs, or using peptides in combinations without oversight.
Do I inject them myself?
Most peptides are subcutaneous injections, and yes, most protocols involve you self-administering at home after being taught in-clinic. Some clients prefer to come in for administration — that's available for an additional fee.
Are peptides FDA-approved?
Some — insulin, GLP-1s, semaglutide — yes. Most wellness peptides are prescribed off-label through licensed compounding pharmacies. This is legal but requires clinical oversight, which is what our program provides.
Can peptides replace GLP-1 or growth hormone?
No, and we're honest about this. Growth hormone secretagogues can support what GH does, but they don't replicate exogenous HGH. GLP-1 medications are more effective for weight loss than any peptide alternative — if weight loss is the goal, we'll steer you to our medical weight loss program.

About IV League as a business.
Who owns and runs IV League?
Mackenzie Lowe is the founder, sole clinician, and owner. IV League is not affiliated with any corporate group or franchise — it's a small independent practice, and the person you meet at consultation is the person who provides your treatment.
Why don't you post before/afters online?
Because the clients who come to us for restraint-first work don't want their face used in marketing. Our discretion policy is one of the reasons clients trust us. The full before/after gallery is available in-consultation, with client-consented context.
Do you have a referral program?
No formal referral program — we don't pay for referrals. If a client sends us a friend, we send both a thank-you note and, occasionally, a small courtesy at the next visit. That's it. The best marketing is the work itself.
Can I book without a consultation?
Returning clients — yes, for services you've had before. New clients — we require an initial consultation for anything beyond a basic IV drip. This isn't a sales tactic; it's how we make sure the plan is right for you before any product is opened.
